Masters Eclectic 2-Day
INDIVIDUAL STROKE PLAY - ECLECTIC FORMAT
Signup by Tuesday, April 8th @ 12:00 noon
9:00am Shotgun Start Thursday, 1:00pm Friday / Entry fee: $30
Complimentary MGA Dinner Meeting and Player Selection Friday Following Play
Note: Thursday 9:00 AM Shotgun, Friday 1:00 PM Shotgun
- This will be a two-day event, Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12. If you can play only one of the two days, your score from that day will be used. Standard MGA entry fee for each day.
- Eclectic format - On Thursday, players will play an individual stroke play event, recording the score on each hole. On Friday, players will try to improve on the score on each hole from the previous round. During the second round, only the holes that show improvement need to be completed.
- If either day is rained out, this becomes a one-day tournament, using just that day’s score.
- Each flight will be a separate tournament, when picking the PGA Players (i.e. An MGA player in the Silver flight could pick the same PGA partner as an MGA player in the Green flight).
- The highest net score in each flight for the two-day eclectic tournament will pick first from among any of the PGA players who made the cut at the Masters Tournament.
- The next highest net score will then pick a PGA player from the remainder of the field.
- Picking is not a blind draw - each MGA player selects the PGA player from the remaining pool. This process will continue until all MGA players have a PGA partner for the last two rounds of the Masters Tournament.
- Winners of the Masters portion of the event will be determined by adding the MGA player’s eclectic net score to the PGA player’s scores for Saturday and Sunday.
- There will be a closest-to-the-pin on #12. The winner will receive $1 in pro shop credit for every player in the field.
- Pro Shop will determine the winners**
**In order to increase players’ chances of a payout, the credit book pot will be split in half: Half will go to winners of the two-day eclectic event, the other half to winners of the Masters Pro/partner event. For the two-day eclectic event, at least one gross winner in each flight will be awarded.
PRIZES: Prizes will be adjusted so that after expenses, approximately 1/3 of the field will receive Credit Book money. The payout for each flight will be proportional to the level of participation in that flight. The Overall Champion from each flight for the Pro/partner event will receive a genuine Masters cap from this year’s Masters Tournament.
PLAYOFF: There will be a scorecard playoff to determine the order of picking and the Overall Net Winners in each flight.
- For picking, ties will be settled using the MGA player’s eclectic score as follows: Lowest net score, then Back 9 net score, Last 6 Back 9 net score, Last 3 Back 9 net score, Net score on #18, Coin flip.
- For Overall Champions (Blue, White, Green, Silver) the first tie breaker is the MGA player’s net eclectic score, then as above.
SKINS: OPTIONAL $5 CASH Individual Canadian Skins Game (See "Canadian Skins Defined and Skins Payouts" under "MGA Info" for an explanation of Canadian skins). If there are no skins won, a drawing will be conducted from among the participating teams - one winner! Must be present for the drawing!
PARTICIPATION AWARD: A sleeve of golf balls will be drawn ASAP following play on Friday. Must be present to win!
DINNER: Complimentary MGA dinner, meeting and PGA player selection following play on Friday.
